SEO strategy consultant who plans before he publishes.
Random acts of SEO waste money. I build a clear, prioritised roadmap around what your buyers actually search, so every page, fix, and link pushes in the same direction and your results compound.
What is an SEO strategy?
An SEO strategy is the plan that decides what you’ll target, why, and in what order, before anyone writes a word of content or builds a single link. It connects your business goals to the searches your customers actually make, then sequences the work so effort builds on effort instead of scattering in every direction.
Most struggling SEO isn’t struggling because of bad execution. It’s struggling because there was no strategy: a blog post here, a few keywords there, some links from who-knows-where, none of it adding up. As an SEO strategy consultant, I make sure there’s a coherent plan underneath everything, so the work you invest in actually compounds into rankings, traffic, and revenue.
Who needs an SEO strategy?
You need a strategy, not just tactics, if:
- You're publishing content but seeing little return. Effort without direction rarely ranks.
- You're planning to invest seriously in SEO and want a roadmap before you spend, not after.
- You have an in-house team or freelancers who need a clear plan to execute against.
- You're entering a competitive market and can't afford to waste months on the wrong targets.
- You want to grow predictably, with priorities and milestones rather than hoping something sticks.
How I build your SEO strategy
Strategy is where my funnel-based method does the heavy lifting. Here’s how it comes together.
1. Understand the business and the buyer
Before keywords, I need to understand how your business actually makes money, what a good customer is worth, and where the margin is. A strategy that ranks you for traffic that never converts is a failure, however impressive the numbers look.
2. Map keywords to the funnel
This is the core of my approach. I research the terms your audience searches, then map each one to where the searcher is in their journey: just learning about the problem, comparing options, or ready to buy. We weight the plan toward the terms closest to a sale, then build out from there, so revenue arrives sooner and funds the slower-burning top-of-funnel work.
3. Cluster into topics and pillars
Individual keywords don’t win anymore; topics do. I group related searches into clusters and design a content structure (pillar pages and supporting articles, well interlinked) that builds genuine topical authority. This is what tells Google you’re a real expert on a subject.
4. Prioritise by impact and effort
Not everything can come first. I score opportunities by potential return, difficulty, and how well they fit your goals, then sequence them so you get momentum early. Quick, winnable targets build traffic and confidence while we work toward the more competitive prizes.
5. Define the plan and the metrics
You end up with a documented roadmap: what to create or optimise, in what order, on what timeline, and how we’ll measure success. Everyone works from the same plan, and we track progress against clear, honest metrics rather than vanity numbers.
The point of strategy: to make sure the next twelve months of SEO effort all pull in one direction. Done right, month six builds on month one instead of starting over.
How an SEO strategy benefits your business
- No wasted effort. Every page and fix serves the plan, so your budget produces results instead of activity.
- Faster momentum. Sequencing quick wins first means you see progress early and fund the bigger goals.
- Traffic that converts. Targeting buyer-intent terms brings visitors who are actually ready to act.
- Topical authority. Clustered content makes Google see you as a genuine expert, lifting your whole site.
- Alignment. Your whole team executes against one clear roadmap, not competing guesses.
How I work as your SEO strategy consultant
We begin with a deep dive into your business, market, and competitors, usually alongside an SEO audit so the plan rests on evidence. I then deliver your documented strategy and roadmap and walk you through it. From there I can lead the execution, guide your team, or simply hand you a plan you can run yourself.
