SEO strategy consultant who plans before he publishes.

Random acts of SEO waste money. I build a clear, prioritised roadmap around what your buyers actually search, so every page, fix, and link pushes in the same direction and your results compound.

What is an SEO strategy?

An SEO strategy is the plan that decides what you’ll target, why, and in what order, before anyone writes a word of content or builds a single link. It connects your business goals to the searches your customers actually make, then sequences the work so effort builds on effort instead of scattering in every direction.

Most struggling SEO isn’t struggling because of bad execution. It’s struggling because there was no strategy: a blog post here, a few keywords there, some links from who-knows-where, none of it adding up. As an SEO strategy consultant, I make sure there’s a coherent plan underneath everything, so the work you invest in actually compounds into rankings, traffic, and revenue. Where the plan calls for authority you do not have yet, link building is the piece that supplies it.

Who needs an SEO strategy?

Tactics without a plan is just activity that produces reports.

Strategy is worth buying separately when the cost of picking the wrong targets is higher than the cost of the planning. That is usually the case in these five situations.

You publish but see little returnEffort without direction rarely ranks. If content is going out monthly and nothing compounds, the problem is almost never the writing.
You are about to invest seriouslyYou want the roadmap before the spend rather than after it, so the budget is committed against evidence instead of a guess.
You have a team to point somewhereAn in-house team or freelancers who can execute perfectly well, once somebody decides what they should be executing and in what order.
You are entering a competitive marketWhere you cannot afford to lose months on targets you were never going to win, because the runway does not allow a second attempt.
You want to grow predictablyWith priorities, milestones and a forecast you can hold me to, rather than publishing and hoping something eventually sticks.
Not you, if the site cannot be crawledA perfect plan aimed at pages search engines cannot reach is wasted. Start with a technical audit and come back to strategy after.

How I build your SEO strategy

Five stages, and the funnel does the heavy lifting.

The order matters more than any individual step, because each one narrows what the next has to consider.

01
Understand the business and the buyerBefore keywords, I need to understand how your business actually makes money, what a good customer is worth, and where the margin sits. A strategy that ranks you for traffic which never converts is a failure however impressive the chart looks, and that failure is usually decided in this first stage rather than later.
02
Map keywords to the funnelThis is the core of the approach. I research the terms your audience searches, then map each to where the searcher actually is: learning about the problem, comparing options, or ready to buy. The plan is weighted towards the terms closest to a sale and built outwards from there, so revenue arrives sooner and pays for the slower top-of-funnel work rather than the other way round.
03
Cluster into topics and pillarsIndividual keywords do not win on their own any more. I group related searches into clusters and design a structure of pillar pages and supporting articles, properly interlinked, which is what tells a search engine you are a genuine authority on a subject rather than someone who wrote about it once.
04
Prioritise by impact and effortNot everything can come first. I score opportunities by potential return, difficulty and fit against your goals, then sequence them so momentum arrives early. Quick, winnable targets build traffic and confidence while the competitive prizes are still being worked towards.
05
Define the plan and the metricsYou end up with a documented roadmap: what to create or optimise, in what order, on what timeline, and how success will be measured. Everyone works from the same plan, and progress is tracked against numbers that mean something commercially rather than ones that look good on a slide.

The point of a strategy is to make the next twelve months of effort pull in one direction. Done properly, month six builds on month one instead of starting over.

How an SEO strategy benefits your business

What changes once everything points the same way.

No wasted effortEvery page and every fix serves the plan, so the budget produces results rather than a record of activity.
Faster momentumSequencing winnable targets first means progress shows early, which is what funds the patience the bigger goals need.
Traffic that convertsTargeting buyer-intent terms brings visitors who are ready to act, rather than volume that flatters the dashboard.
Topical authorityClustered content lifts the whole site rather than the single page it was written for, because authority accrues to the topic.
AlignmentYour team executes against one roadmap instead of several competing guesses about what matters this quarter.
A plan you can auditBecause the reasoning is written down next to the recommendation, you can challenge any of it, and so can whoever inherits it.

How I work as your SEO strategy consultant

Three ways this ends, and you pick.

We begin with a deep dive into your business, market and competitors, usually alongside an SEO audit so the plan rests on evidence rather than assumption. I then deliver the documented strategy and roadmap and walk you through it properly, so you understand not just what is recommended but why, and can push back on the parts you disagree with.

From there it is your call. I can lead the execution myself, guide your team while they do it, or hand you the plan and step back entirely. The third option is a legitimate outcome rather than a failed sale, and I would rather you take a good plan and run it yourself than pay me to do work you already have the people for.

Strategy depends more than most work on trusting the person doing the thinking, so my background is worth two minutes first. The freelance SEO consultant page covers what hiring one person rather than a team changes about how a plan gets made and who defends it.

What the strategy has produced

Named clients, not anonymised screenshots.

A plan is only as good as what came out of it, so here are three engagements with the numbers attached and the clients named. Each one links to the full account of what was done.

“Adib is an SEO guru. Google recognised only 53 of our keywords when he started, after his work that’s 180 worldwide, with several already on page one. Easy to talk to, and he helps you understand his thinking.”Matt LivingstonCEO, Bacanale
“An absolute gem to collaborate with. Swift, thorough, and full of in-depth SEO insight, and he transparently shared every step of his process. I’d wholeheartedly recommend him and will hire him again.”Mirko ScarcellaCEO, Lion ADV Inc

Different markets, different starting points, different budgets, so none of that is a forecast. It is evidence that sequencing the work properly is what makes it compound.

What SEO strategy costs

Published, because you should not have to book a call to find out.

Strategy on its own can be bought as a one-off project, but most clients want the plan and the hands that implement it, which is what the monthly retainer covers.

Monthly retainer £1,500 – £5,000 per month, depending on scope and how competitive your market is. No hourly rate, no minimum term dressed up as a discount.
What the retainer covers
Strategy, and the reasoning behind it in writing The hands-on technical and on-page work Monthly reporting, including what did not work Direct access to me, not a support queue A working document of every change, yours to keep

Link placements are priced separately and published on my link building page, because buying links and buying strategy are different purchases and folding them into one number hides what you are actually paying for. You approve every placement and its cost before anything is spent.

Diagnosis or executionA first quarter weighted towards finding problems costs differently from a steady month of shipping fixes that are already agreed.
How contested your market isThe same result costs more where everyone else is also trying, because the bar for a page that holds its position is set by whoever is already there.
What your team can shipA client with a developer who can implement changes needs fewer of my hours than one where I am also the person editing the theme.

Three things move where you land in that range: how much of the work is diagnosis rather than ongoing execution, how contested your market is, and how much of the plan your team will implement themselves. I do not publish an hourly rate: quoting by the hour rewards slowness and pushes clients into rationing questions to save money, which is precisely the moment the work goes wrong. Before you commit I will tell you what I think the realistic timeline is and what the first quarter should produce, and if the number does not make sense against what your site could plausibly earn, I will say so.

SEO Strategy FAQs

Do I need an audit before a strategy?
It helps but isn’t mandatory. An audit gives the strategy an evidence base; without one we build the plan from keyword research, competitor analysis, and your business goals instead.
Will you also execute the strategy?
If you want, yes. Otherwise you can hand the roadmap to your own team or freelancers, it’s built to be run by anyone.
How often does the strategy get revisited?
I recommend a light review every quarter, rankings, competitors, and search behaviour all shift, and the plan should shift with them.
